Moral Fibre: A Bomber Pilot's Story

    Helena P. Schrader

Riding the icy, moonlit sky, they took the war to Hitler. Their chances of survival was less than fifty percent. Their average age was 21. This is the story of a Lancaster skipper, his crew and the woman he loved.

“Moral Fibre” tells the story of a man once branded a coward who returns to continue the fight against fascism. Given a second chance, Flying Officer Kit Moran, now a qualified bomber pilot, forms a new crew and together they join the other men of RAF Bomber Command in taking the war to Hitler. In a tribute to those who fought for freedom, Schrader covers the many faces of courage and grief — and the price of survival.

Moral Fibre won the Hemingway Award for 20th Century wartime fiction, a Mediacrest Award for military fiction, and was was named a Finalist in the Historical category of the Book Excellence Awards.
