As a lifelong poetry lover, Thomasina La Guardia has been writing poems since she was a child. She is the winner of this year’s 2022 Independent Press Award in the Poetry-Family/Relationships, which recognizes her painterly and evocative gifts.  Aromas, tastes and voices from her growing up in Brooklyn are rendered vividly, along with the loves and losses of her adult life.  A reader of these poems will be changed forever.
